Why Write to Prisoners?

Recently I had a horrific life experience with someone I've come to learn is a sociopath. To try to feel more in control of the situation I have researched sociopaths, read several books on them, including The Sociopath Next Door and discussed them at length with my therapist.

There are days where I would actually miss my sociopath and yearned to speak to him. But that would not be prudent, so I have decided to do the next best thing: write to famed sociopaths that are safely in prison.

The idea struck me one day recently when a friend of mine asked me to look up Raffaello Follieri's mailing address in prison. I found it quickly and thought seeing that I had it, I might as well write to him.

With all the talk of white-collar crime lately and ponzi-schemers heading to federal prisons, a quick notes to Raf might be an interesting endeavor.

Upon further though, I decided if writing to one famed inmate was good, writing to many would be better. It would increase my chances of getting a response and maybe shed some light on sociopaths.

I also thought it might be an interesting thing to share online and maybe in book form. I could collect my letters and the responses from various prisoners and maybe some sort of underlying narrative would begin.

Here we go!
